The Guppy Lake Restoration Foundation

Preserving An Information Wilderness in the Heart of the World

The Guppy Lake Restoration Foundation is a new, not-for-profit foundation, that I (Nathaniel Borenstein) created in 1999 to help recharge the batteries of the world.

The mission of the Guppy Lake Restoration Foundation is to promote the following three goals:

1. To preserve Northern Michigan's forests and protect them from being destroyed by unchecked development.

2. To provide a peaceful retreat and sanctuary for people of all faiths working towards a better world.

3. To preserve an area of "information wilderness" -- an area that will be forever kept apart from the Internet and its all-embracing connectivity.

The foundation's main current activity is the construction and operation of the Guppy Lake Restoration Retreat, a sanctuary under development in Greenbush, Michigan,

Recently, two Community High School students, Loren Mindell and Chris Primeau, have been working on restoring Guppy Lake as a Community Resource project. Click here to see their end-of-year presentation.
