One Planet, One Net: Principles for the Internet Era

In the late 90's, after the first couple years of commercial Internet, I and my colleagues at Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility were deeply concerned about the complete lack of general social principles were established for what the Internet means to mankind. So we took a shot at it. It didn't have much of an impact, but I'm still proud of the work we did.

The One Planet, One Net principles were published as an Internet Draft (standards-related) document, in the hopes of getting the Internet community enthused about them. It didn't work.
